My career has been slightly more than just auctioneering - it has involved appraising large consignments, procurement, containerisation and shipping to the UK and Europe for eventual sale. I have travelled extensively in this role to many far flung destinations which also involved setting up branch offices in Hong Kong. My sons have been instrumental in the procurement of auction items and moved from Scotland to Hong Kong and mainland China to oversee this difficult process. Although I have been told I should be considering taking things a little easier, I enjoy the job so much, I have no desire to give up on the auctioneering side yet - there are so many new challenges with new technologies and the opportunities with online auctions - there is still so much to achieve.
